ComBank Website Wins US Web Marketing Association Global Award – Adaderana Biz

The US-based Web Marketing Association (WMA) honored Commercial Bank of Ceylon with a “Bank Standard of Excellence” award at the Association’s 2022 WebAwards, where the world’s best websites in 86 sectors were rewarded.

The awards, given by a team of leading freelance internet professionals, were based on an assessment of design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, writing and ease of use of each of the competing websites. The judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, creative directors, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters.

Other winners of the Bank Standard of Excellence award this year were Lincoln Savings Bank, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, Carver Federal Savings Bank and Lenderfit, all in the United States. First National Bank and Trust, USA, won the award for best banking website.

“We are delighted to have our website recognized by one of the world’s foremost authorities on the design and use of websites for business purposes,” said Commercial Bank Deputy Managing Director – Marketing, Mr. Hasrath Munasinghe. “Websites have become essential to banking, and at Commercial Bank, we have constantly pushed the boundaries of innovation and functionality while continuing to improve the usability of our website. This award is an excellent source of affirmation that we are not only on the right track, but that we are on par with the best in the world.

Notably, Commercial Bank’s WMA WebAward closely followed the Bank’s website’s recognition as the country’s best “Banking and Finance” website in the 2022 BestWeb.lk competition organized by the LK domain registry. In 2018, Commercial Bank’s corporate website won the “Outstanding Website” award in the “Banking” category at the WMA WebAwards.

Commercial Bank relaunched its www.combank.lk website last year with features such as trilingual access to content, a super-smooth interface with interactive multimedia material, improved navigation, experience personalization, smarter search options and tools and resources that make it an extra user. – friendly and informative.

According to the latest web statistics, the website receives 6.4 million visits per year and has had 4.5 million organic searches and 10 million page views per year. It is also the most visited corporate website of a bank in Sri Lanka.
