Job Summary:
The Communications Manager will be responsible for:
• Manage ongoing and regular communications with members of all ages (13-113), partners and guests locally, nationally and overseas using all platforms
• Provide communication support for Alliance ministries and leaders: education, congregational life, mission and outreach, worship and music
• Raise awareness of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and its mission in the Charlotte community, invite people to worship and nurture relationships with communications support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Development strategy
• Create detailed weekly and long-term plans for content creation targeting members, guests and partners, including publishing schedules, editorial calendars, topic generation and messaging themes, and templates
• Develop an internal process, including timelines, to initiate and prioritize promotions and campaigns
Brand and platform management
• Engage with our audiences of all ages and stages to ensure a consistent communication experience from the online to the offline world. (iPhone at bench parking)
• Develop understanding of members, guests and new members and adapt messages to resonate. Understand current trends in church involvement and adapt messaging to make church communications comfortable and user-friendly for all
• Audit, understand and make recommendations (as needed) for Covenant’s marketing platforms to ensure best practices and usage (email, social media, website/CMS, Google/SEO and other platforms) specific to worship/congregation), including use by staff
Content management
• Create print, digital and content communications using all mediums (email content, web content, blogs, social media, print media, videos, etc.) with a high level of creativity and effectiveness. This may include design, graphics, copywriting and layout development
• Manage content and messaging on the website; implement SEO (paid and organic)
• Create and deliver reports that summarize campaign, web and social media performance and use data-driven recommendations for strategy adjustments
• Create weekly worship bulletins, following the guidelines and publication palette; create funeral and marriage certificates as needed; design a monthly newsletter and prepare for publication. Ensure quality by checking grammar, consistency and style
• Manage timelines, scope, resources (staff and lay) and marketing expectations

• Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including being able to comfortably express a Christian faith journey
Training and experience
• Licence
• 3-5+ years of experience in the marketing industry (corporate, agency, or non-profit organization) with an understanding of the digital landscape and technology
• Desire for continuous training on best practices and marketing trends
• Ability to articulate Christian beliefs with an understanding of the Reformed Presbyterian faith tradition will be a plus
• Demonstrated success working in collaborative team environments, building trust, credibility and trust
• Excellent writing and communication skills, including proofreading
• Excellent content creation skills and experience
Technological skills
• Knowledge of design, photo and video editing software (i.e. Adobe Suite)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of social media platforms
• Understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy, best practices and analysis
• Skills in video production and photography would be a plus
• Ability to learn and proficiently use worship presentation software (such as ProPresenter) to edit visual worship presentations would be a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other basic software

• Salary range of $45,000 to $50,000 depending on qualifications and work experience.
