WATCHUNG – The borough’s website gets a facelift once a software publisher has completed its redesign of www.watchungnj.gov.
The borough council voted unanimously on Thursday, May 20 to hire Spatial data logic from Somerset, a municipal web design company, to a contract of no more than $ 20,000 for the project.
The board has discussed the idea of revamping the website on and off over the past year. Borough councilor Ronald Jubin thanked the public and council for their patience during the meeting.
“This is an exciting business, but also one that we wanted to make sure we got input from the public, the mayor and council,” and other parties, Jubin said.
Spatial Data Logic needs to work with the city’s various departments and committees to update their website pages as the process progresses, Mayor Keith Balla said.
Charlie Neiss, a member of the Borough’s Green Team committee, said he recently scoured the entire website as website functionality factors to achieve Sustainable Jersey certification.
“Every box on the checklist is checked,” he said. Everything on this site is well organized and works well – you can get the information you want. Granted, it’s a really old design and it needs an overhaul, but the current navigation structure is exactly what we need. “
