The Search Engine Optimization Specialist will be responsible for analyzing, reviewing and implementing search optimized websites, as well as developing content to include keywords or phrases to increase the traffic to the website.

The SEO specialist should have in-depth knowledge of keyword research, SEO writing, and search engine behaviors, as well as strong writing skills and a strong ability to market their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze customer sites for areas that can be improved and optimized
  • Writing of detailed strategic reports
  • Identify powerful keywords to drive the most valuable traffic
  • Work with the paid media team to run PPC campaigns (if applicable)
  • Writing powerful calls to action to convert visitors
  • Populate websites and other content with effective keywords
  • Writing effective SEO content for blogs, websites and social media accounts
  • Develop link building strategies
  • Analysis of keywords and SEO techniques used by competitors
  • Staying on top of white and black hat SEO strategies
  • Writing and presentation of SEO guidelines
  • Support the digital strategy with research, competitive analysis and campaign strategy

Key requirements:

  • Understanding of digital marketing best practices
  • Previous experience in content marketing, content growth and SEO
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices
  • Exceptional ability to think creatively and strategically as well as the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google AdWord
  • Experience with website optimization tools
  • Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with MS Excel to manipulate data and create meaningful charts
  • Understanding of HTML / CSS and JavaScript would be an asset
  • Audit websites for SEO issues
  • Identify and resolve SEO issues
  • Good understanding of the social media landscape and how it can be used in SEO
  • Perform in-depth and detailed website analysis, identifying current issues and opportunities, with a focus on crawling, site architecture and site content
  • Perform competitive research, identify what the client’s competitors are doing well, what they are doing wrong and how these tactics influence the client
