The world has become a giant village, thanks to the advent of the Internet. Assets have become digitalized and some of them are worth more than physical assets. NFT (non-fungible token) and SaaS (software as a service) are some examples.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, digital assets in the form of content have exploded as most people were locked in their homes with the internet as their only means of expression.

In turn, business investment in this area has also gained momentum, whether in content-based blogs and websites or online services such as online courses and digital subscriptions, social media platforms, online broadcasting, etc.

Bangladesh has also jumped on the bandwagon.

A locally formed company called Rank Wizards manages and processes affiliate niche blogs, content writing websites that serve as a hosting platform for relevant e-commerce advertisements to turn them into attractive investment opportunities for micro-investors or businesses of individuals who invest small. sums of money in several companies.

In a conversation with The Business Standard, Founder Saleh Ahmed, Creative Director Abu Yousuf Shihab, and Branding Program Director Golam Sadman spoke about the seeded startup, a business that operates on personal finance or operating income, and how she plans to revolutionize the digital asset industry.

“Rank Wizards is basically a digital asset creator and manages similar types of digital assets on behalf of clients. We are focusing on the niche blogging sector of this industry and we are planning to move to different more sectors. late, ”Shihab said.

Startup founder Saleh Ahmed founded the company while a student at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology and freelance in 2016.

“It started out as a solo business and Rank Wizards is my original idea, which is now a team of 74. Although the digital asset industry is doing well with most developing countries trying to tap into this industry. have fallen behind.

There was hardly anyone from Asia to disrupt this industry. So I thought about the idea of ​​a seed business and making it available to micro-investors to help us create more digital assets, ”said Saleh, explaining how he came up with the idea.

In the beginning, Saleh’s goal was to ensure a return on investment and to make the platform a must-have personal investment opportunity for other micro-investors like him.

From 2016 to 2020, self-funded Rank Wizards only provided online services like content marketing. And to collect the finances, Saleh had to sell his startup’s consulting services and wings.

“As we traveled, we had to learn the trade in serving our clients. During these three years of activity as a service agency, we have developed our own formula for building assets. We are still in the phase of building assets alongside our services, ”Saleh told the correspondent.

We asked the team to tell us about the success Rank Wizards has had so far. Responding to this, Sadman said, “It’s a tricky question, but I think we’re doing pretty well. As we focus on two big goals – meeting customer expectations and creating our own products – we need to measure. success separately. “

He continued, “When it comes to customer onboarding, we can proudly say that we have a pool of returning customers and we don’t need to seek them out. Our success here is that we get new customers through the password. stuffy. But if we talk about numbers, we have served over 250 clients so far. “

“Our other indicator of success is our number of employees. At the start of 2021, we only had 13 employees. But now, as the year draws to a close, we are a team of over 74 thanks to our redesigned recruiting. and HR strategies, ”Sadman said proudly.

Sadman added that Rank Wizards currently operates 25 websites, which they call their products. These 25 websites generate more than 2 lakh of visitors or online traffic every day.

Rank Wizard’s digital assets function as a hub for three different target groups – consumers of content from countries with English as a mother tongue and other non-native English speaking countries, affiliate brands and sole proprietorships, and investors (the service wing and micro-investors).

He added that such articles make the link between the site and the advertisement, making it a platform for businesses to place relevant advertisements and product placement.

Revenue is generated with each sale derived from these ads / placements and Rank Wizards charges brands an affiliate commission, which is a sum of money the brand pays Rank Wizards for promoting their products on Rank’s platforms. Wizard.

Saleh continued, “We need to make sure that our content keeps ranking online. If it goes down, we lose commissions and traffic. If the traffic goes down, we update the content by adding additional material.”

At the end of the conversation, we asked the three founders about the future of Rank Wizards.

“I want to see people carrying or carrying Rank Wizards merchandise on the streets, just like I saw someone carrying a New Yorker bag today. I hope that someday people will be connected to our platform on a personal level, ”Shihab said. .

“We hope to work with NFTs, cryptocurrencies, online courses, subscriptions and all other forms of digital assets in the future. But as we are primed, we still need to secure our lands,” said Saleh.

He added that over the next five years, Rank Wizards will focus on turning their blogs into brands, paving the way for the dream of merchandising to come true.

Finally, the Rank Wizards team is working to familiarize the concept of digital assets in Bangladesh.

“There are around 10,000 to 15,000 people actively investing in digital assets in Bangladesh, but they are only doing it as an accompaniment. Among millennials, we want to familiarize this [digital asset investment] in Bangladesh as a full-fledged career option, ”Saleh said.
