Meet the finalists for the Scale-Up Business of the Year award, sponsored by Archant Marketing Services. Source of bread

Bread Source is an independent artisan bakery based in Norfolk that specializes in simple, honest products made using traditional techniques and high quality ingredients. The company was founded in 2012 by current owner and award-winning pastry chef Steven Winter and his wife Hannah.

The company employs over 75 people in its Norwich-based production bakery, five retail / cafe locations and e-commerce arm – baking and producing 24/7.

The judges commented: “Bread Source was already going from strength to strength over the past two years, but the business has grown tremendously during the Covid pandemic, which the owners have really managed to take to their advantage despite the obvious difficulties associated with managing a largely face-to-face transaction during lockdown.

“Their candidacy has shown that their strong growth rests on a solid foundation of exceptional customer and employee engagement, product and service innovation and regular investment in the company. ”
