Not Tonight Developer is working on a new football RPG story

The creator of the beloved Not Tonight series, Panic Barn, announced via a trailer that they are currently working on a new RPG titled Soccer Story. The open-world adventure game will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, PS5, Switch, Stadia, and PC via Steam sometime in 2022.

The good news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers is that publisher No More Robots has confirmed that Soccer Story will be available on the ever-popular games subscription service at launch. The game is now wishlisted on Steam, and players can easily sign up for its beta test by filling out the form on the official website. It’s unclear when playtesting will kick off beyond the cryptic promise of “very soon”, but they’ll send you a Steam beta code when it drops – interested parties are best signed up as soon as possible.

“It’s been a year since The Calamity™ destroyed the very foundations of football as we know it, and since then Soccer Inc. has ensured that no one has been allowed to look at a football, let alone kick it. -le,” the ad reads. Players can solve all problems with their magic ball in a world where soccer is unfortunately banned.

At a glance, Soccer Story is an open-world, puzzle-solving RPG with an incredibly dynamic and retro art design. Players will be pitted against teams like sharks, ninjas, or…toddlers, apparently, for victory. According to the development team, Soccer Story features a bundle of side missions, quests, activities, and in-game events, extending playtime to 15 hours. Additionally, the game features a local multiplayer mode that supports up to four players.
