New data from Canva has revealed Australia’s most lucrative ‘side businesses’, with tech skills like 3D and 2D modeling and SEO ranking.
Canva’s research is based on the earnings of part-time freelancers in Australia who meet the criteria for a “freelance freelance”.
3D and 2D modeling has proven to be the most lucrative service advertised by part-time freelancers, with these professionals charging $ 126 for each job.
Proofreading and editing was second ($ 121) per job, followed by SEO services ($ 85.8) and website design ($ 45).
Social media advertising finished 7th with an average price of $ 29.5.
The high cost associated with 3D and 2D modeling was a result of the longer lead times associated with the projects.
“Our analysis of Australia reveals which jobs are most popular among freelancers offering a service that could be completed in three days or less,” Canva said.
3D and 2D modeling was the lowest on this list, with only 59 services available. This was compared to proofreading and editing, which topped the list with 279 services.
Proofreading and editing also turned out to be the biggest contributors to the Hustle Economy, with total sales reaching $ 14,593. Next come 3D and 2D modeling ($ 7,235), blogging services ($ 4,375) and illustration ($ 4,271).
The research also looked at Australia’s ranking in the turbulent global economy.
While we finished 7th in terms of total earnings, in terms of average earnings Australia was third with an average of $ 766 in earnings per job just behind Switzerland and Sweden.
