The leaks have been in the news for the past few months. The biggest leak was the hacking incident at Rockstar which released ninety pre-alpha footage for the upcoming game.
Blizzard also had a leak for the upcoming Diablo 4. In a previous alpha test, an hour of gameplay was shared via a Discord group chat. The video found its way onto Reddit and spread like wildfire.
Well, Blizzard recently started its closed beta test for the game and players have reportedly received invites. Players invited to the beta test will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement as part of the agreement. This means that all game information should be kept confidential and should not be shared with anyone.
However, the NDA did not stop testers from leaking information about Diablo 4. We also managed to find several of the leaked videos circulating online.
Invitations and Gameplay Information Leaked
The email invitation itself is meant to be confidential, but players have shared information about how they entered the closed beta. Most of those chosen to participate have extensive Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 experience. hours at play.
The testers not only shared how they got the invites, but also a little tidbit about endgame content on the Diablo Subreddit.
A Reddit user posted their take on the game saying that “Combat is so smooth and responsive. D3’s engine and combat is unparalleled IMO and D4 feels better on the outside. orders are tighter and ‘faster’.”
“The skill tree is extremely deep. I like how Blizzard goes back to deep and complex ability customizations. Can’t say much about the other systems, but the absolute heart of the game (kill and move) is smooth and people should rest assured,” the user adds.
Another user posted his disappointment with the Necromancer class that resurrects a human corpse even by killing monsters.
Leaked gameplay video
There are reports that video gameplay footage has been leaked by a tester. The original Reddit post has since been deleted, but we managed to find the video on Twitter.
There are five videos in total with an average length of about forty minutes each. The videos are posted on a file-sharing website and are likely the ones the deleted Reddit post alludes to. The language setting for game images is Russian and we have no way to translate the text into English.
One of the gameplay videos shows the Necromancer class. My first impression from the images is that the game looks like a modern Diablo title. The gameplay is solid and the graphics are amazing from what I’ve seen.
Blizzard has specifically stated that the closed beta is focused on end-game content so as not to spoil the main storyline. It’s as if they were expecting someone to eventually leak footage during the closed beta. They were right to choose not to have a closed beta test for the story campaign, as leaked videos for the game are already spreading.
It’s understandable that Blizzard still wants to keep the game under wraps with NDAs. Any negative impressions of the game may affect players’ interest in buying Diablo 4.
Closed beta invites will continue until November 18 according to reports. If you’re not so lucky, a public beta test will take place in early 2023. We expect the public beta to arrive after the Diablo 4 pre-order announcement.
Diablo 4 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
