The new gallery view is deployed with WhatsApp Beta for Windows version 2.2227.2.0. The same update also includes the ability to respond even when the app is closed.
What’s new with gallery view
According to the screenshot posted by WABetaInfo, the redesigned gallery view on WhatsApp Beta for Windows appears to be similar to the standard WhatsApp desktop client, which is based on WhatsApp Web.
The image shows that the multiple images open in a carousel format, making it easier for users to navigate between them. Additionally, WABetaInfo also claimed that the updated gallery view is very stable and some testers reported performance improvements with the latest update.
The beta update is rolling out to select users via Windows Store.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also testing “mass” vanishing mode for chats in beta. This feature allows users to select multiple chats and enable disappear messages option at once.
